In this DVD, Pepe Habichuela, an incomparable paragon of pure flamenco,
demonstrates his pure gitana (gypsy) flamenco toque and techniques by
playing eight selected compositions from his repertoire: soleares,
alegría, fandango de Huelva, bulerías, taranta, soleá por bulerías,
tangos and an unpublished version of his famous rumba 'A Mandeli'. Pepe
not only plays each toque at normal speed, he also repeats every
individual falsetas detailed and slowly. Two percussionists accompany
all the rhythmical palos. This DVD with sheet music and tablatures
provides a fascinating selection of reproduceable pieces from one of the
great masters of the flamenco guitar.
